Pre-Procedure Preparation Guide

Basic preparations to be made and discussed before the appointment.

Main ideas in this chapter

  • Pre-procedure preparation is part of a safe process.
  • Medications, supplements, special conditions, and timing should be discussed openly.
  • A designed patient is calmer and makes more accurate decisions.

Why is preparation necessary?

Medical aesthetic procedures may be short, but this does not make them procedures that can be performed unprepared. Especially health history, medications used, and recent plans are decisive in the process.

Good preparation increases the quality of the procedure and reduces unnecessary surprises.

What should be discussed during the consultation?

The patient should honestly share the medications they use, supplements, allergies, past procedures, pregnancy-breastfeeding status, and active skin problems.

In addition, plans that create time pressure such as a wedding, photoshoot, travel, or an important meeting should definitely be mentioned.

  • History of blood thinner use
  • Supplements and herbal products
  • Allergy and health history
  • Recent social planning

Timing sense:Having a procedure done in a hurry very close to an important event is often not a good idea.

How should the patient prepare?

It is more valuable to come to the appointment thinking about why you want something, not just what you want. It is possible to bring reference photos; however, the goal is not to copy them, but to explain the expectation.

A designed patient asks more questions and experiences less regret.
