What is mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is a method of injecting cell-level effective agents (hyaluronic acid, vitamins - especially B complex and C, amino acids, antioxidants, peptides) into the skin with fine needles or special devices. It was developed in 1952 by French Dr. Pistor. A session usually lasts 20-30 minutes, applied with 3-4 sessions apart, the result is cumulative.
Skin booster difference
Skin boosters are stabilized but non-cross-linked or lightly cross-linked hyaluronic acid preparations. Unlike fillers, they are used to "improve quality" rather than "add volume". When placed in the skin, they slowly release HA for 6-9 months, stimulating fibroblasts for new HA synthesis and supporting collagen production. Profhilo (Italian origin pure HA, non-cross-linked), Restylane Vital (Galderma) are the most well-known brands.
Mesotherapy differentiation
- Multi-agent mixture (HA + vitamins + amino acids)
- Micro-injections into the superficial dermis
- 4-6 sessions required
- For skin radiance, hydration
- Spreads over a wider area
Skin booster differentiation
- Pure or lightly cross-linked HA
- Bolus points into the mid-dermis
- 2 sessions are sufficient (initial + reinforcement)
- For structural HA reserve
- Placed at 5-7 strategic points
Who is it suitable for?
It is ideal for patients aged 30+ who complain of "dullness" and loss of hydration, those who want to make a long-term skin investment for events like marriage/work, and when it is desired to be used as a supportive treatment for professional procedures (laser, microneedling). Additionally, skin boosters are particularly valuable in thin skin areas such as the neck and back of the hands - significant improvement can be achieved here without surgery.
Clinical note:Skin booster should not be confused with filler. Filler adds volume, skin booster improves quality. Using the wrong product in the wrong place is one of the most common application errors in clinics.
